Preschool Teacher

Ready Set Grow Preschool is seeking a preschool teacher for the 2019-2020 school year. Instructional hours are 9:00 am to 11:30 am Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings. Salary to be based on 14 hours per week (0.35 FTE).

The preschool teacher is expected to plan lessons and field trips, establish open communication with parents and report to the Executive Director and Program Director. We encourage participation in professional workshops and courses to further development in Early Childhood Education.

  Qualifications:

  • Experience teaching preschool age children (3-4 years)

  • Child Development Supervisor (formerly level 3) certificate

  • Able to provide a clear criminal record check with vulnerable sector

  • Hold a valid Standard Child Care First Aid with CPR B certificate

  • Able to plan curriculum for preschoolers to encourage learning through play

  • Excellent communication skills and administrative ability

Program​ Director

We are seeking a term Program Director starting immediately, for maternity leave coverage. The Program Director will work in cooperation with the Executive Director, Assistant Director, Accountant / Office Administrator and fellow Early Childhood Educators.
 

Job Expectations:

  • Provide direction, consultation, and instruction to child care staff in the development of each program

  • Ensure that necessary staffing, equipment and supplies are provided to operate a quality program

  • Maintain ongoing program review through informal and formal visits to programs, and meetings with programs

  • Ensure that all child care staff are following the Society’s Policies and Procedures

  • Ensure that all child care staff are following all Licensing Standards

  • Ensures that all children care staff are involved in meeting accreditation goals

  • Work effectively with program teams

  • Think and act quickly in the event of an emergency
     

Requirements:

  • Must hold a Child Development Supervisor Certification (formerly level 3)

  • Early Learning and Child Care Diploma

  • Experience in a Supervisor Role

  • Through Knowledge of Licensing Standards

  • Knowledge of Accreditation and Accreditation process

  • Familiarity with the Early Learning and Child Care Framework for Alberta

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Programs

  • Strong understanding of the programming, planning and documentation cycle

  • Strong interpersonal skills with excellent written & oral communication skills

  • Flexibility with schedule

  • Willingness and ability to learn
